Many coffee companies incorporate the name Kaldi, or goats or dances with goats in their logos and names. The reason is historic.

Legend has it that coffee was discovered by an Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi. Kaldi noticed that after his goats ate the berries from the coffee tree that they would dance with delight. Once he tried the berry himself he realized that he too felt like dancing. He took the berries to a nearby monastery where the Abbot believing they were the work of the devil threw them into the fire. This released such an aroma, that the beans were quickly retrieved from the fire and the rest is history.
